3 Spooky-Cookie Halloween Recipes That Can Be Made In The Microwave

Trick or treat? Well, why not both - the trick is using your microwave and the treats are chocolatey, mouth-watering spooky themed delights for all the family!

We have compiled our top 3 Halloween themed microwave treats into an easy to follow (and easier to eat!) blog so that you can get creative in the kitchen over the Halloween period. Lockdown won't dampen our spirits this Halloween, all you need is a microwave and some creativity to create these little bites of heaven (or hell, muahahahaha!)

Recipe #1 - Halloween Chocolate Fudge

This fudge recipe from HotChocolateHits is decadent and delicious while being easy to make!


-525g (18.5oz) of chocolate (milk, white or dark, or mix it up and use a combination!) broken up into small pieces.

-1 cup (14 ounces) of sweet condensed milk

-1/4 cup of unsalted butter, cubed

-1 tsp vanilla extract

-1/4-1/2 tsp salt

Optional add ins for Halloween:

-Candy eyes

-Kitkat chunks

-Colourful m&ms

-Oreo chunks


-Line an 8/9 inch square pan with foil, brush with butter.

-In a microwave safe bowl add the chocolate, condensed milk, salt, vanilla and butter

-Microwave for 3-5 minutes, stirring every 45 seconds until everything has melted and the mixture is homogenous (should be thick and glossy)

-Quickly pour the mixture into the greased pan and add your preferred toppings!

-Chill in the fridge for one hour, or until firm

-cut into small squares and enjoy!

Recipe #2- Microwave Chocolate Chip Cookie

This mug cake cookie recipe from Tasty will satisfy any sweet tooth!

Ingredients (per cookie)

-2 tablespoons butter

-1 tables poon brown sugar

-1 tablespoon sugar

-1/4 teaspoon baking powder

-1/8 teaspoon salt

-1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

-3 tablespoons flour

-2 tablespoons chocolate chips

-1/2 cup of ice cream (optional!)


-add 2 tablespoons butter, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 1/8 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1/4 teaspoon baking powder to a microwaveable mug and mix.

-Next add 3 tablespoons flour and 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips and mix thoroughly.

-Place microwaveable mug into the microwave and heat for 60 seconds or until desired texture is achieved!

-Add your toppings and enjoy!

Recipe #3-  Frankenstein Rice Krispie Treats

These fun rice krispie cakes from Grumpyshoneybunch can be decorated and topped with your favourite Halloween sweets and coloured to match your Halloween theme!




-optional food colouring - red/green/blue!

-toppings: chocolate chips, gummies, lollies, spooky sweets!

-rice krispies (6-8 cups worth)


-butter an 8x8 pan and set aside

-measure out 6 cups of rice krispies in a bowl and set aside

-microwave marshmallows and butter for 2 minutes, remove from microwave and stir

-if the mixture needs to be heated longer, microwave for 30 second intervals until mixture can be stirred smooth

-stir in the rice krispies

-add food colouring to add the Halloween effect!

-pour the mixture into the pan

-press the mixture down into the pan to set

-place the pan in the fridge until cool

remove from the fridge and decorate, serve, and enjoy!
